Evil, thy name is telemarketer!

March 15, 2010

Phone rings.  Stare at the caller id.  Unknown,  000-000-0000.  Heart leaps to throat.

“Hello?”

Silence.

“He–”

“I’m calling for something you don’t care about.  Did you know…”

Hang up the phone.  Cuss incessantly.  Wonder about sanity and direction of life.

Do I ever feel you. Every time the phone rings, I get a minor heart attack. (And then it turns out to be my grandmother. Sigh.)

On the bright side, it’s the 16th. We’re more than halfway through. Not much longer now!

Well I’ll be extra twitchy if I haven’t heard by Friday since the 19th was the date I got my waitlist email last year. I don’t know if I could do the waitlist again…too much waiting with no payoff.

Is there any chance CW has already called people but they are sworn to secrecy like the clarion SD acceptances were?

    Dismal thoughts =(

Unless people are lying about their wait, I find it improbable (but not impossible) that many calls have been made. The network makes it reasonable to keep track. But there’s nothing I/we can do about it if they have been calling, so I wait impatiently but hopefully.

The blog awhile back about the gent who said he didn’t get into clarion west was a false lead. He finally replied to my query and said he didn’t apply to cw. So his email just had his name and the subject was clarion. Before I read it I nearly stroked out, it looked so much like the csd rejection!

Hang in there! I’m sure CW won’t be far behind finalizing their list now that CSD has announced their student roster. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!
