I only have about five stories out right now, so it’s been a while since a rejection came in. Well, I just got one. Strange Horizons doesn’t want “Leech Run”. *sigh* Form reject, as usual. This story is running out of promising pro markets. Maybe one of the upstarts, like Bull Spec. (Lightspeed already passed at a rate appropriate to its name.)
Ooh! A rejection!

Like every other superhero, I have more than one identity. By day, I am Mr. Baker, not-so-mild-mannered high school math teacher. By night (and weekends, holidays, a lot during the summer...) I am Scott W. Baker, science fiction author. View all posts by Scott W. Baker
Just wait until you have fifteen or twenty stories circulating. The rejections will roll in with such regularity — and you’ll be turning them right back around with such regularity — that the entire thing starts to feel like volleball. Every time they bump it over the net to your side, you bump it right back, and suddenly it’s coming back over the net again, and so on and so forth.
